The Segmented Harlequin is unique shell design made up of seven different segmented rings of tropical and indigenous hard woods. Each ring is made from segments of eight different wood - Wenge, Bubinga, Purpleheart, Ash, Oak, Brazillian Cherry, Iroko, and Beech. The different rings expose the individual patterns in the timbers and respond variously to the light as the viewing angle alters. Each ring has one segment of each of the eight different timbers used.

The woods chosen are selected for their dense, hard physical properties, and as a result makes them choice tone woods to produce a shell that is bursting with character. And with the depth and 13" diameter, it gives the snare drum enormous versatility. The shell is finished with a high gloss lacquer.?
